We loaded Tank and Teddy up. And we headed on our way.

But there was a stop we had to make first. My boyfriend loaned us a box that attached to our hitch… the problem? My dad just got his new audi and being a foreign car.. didn’t have the right trailor light attachment, but it was only sold at the audi store.
Once my father put the attachment on we were back on the road.
Tank fell asleep probably 2 minutes into the drive and Teddy was just chilling.
I fell asleep until we got to New Mexico which is a 3 hour drive. In that time.. honestly nothing happened. No accidents, no screaming, no meowing, it was just my mom telling my dad her typical bad stories. We stopped at the border to document our travels.
It honestly wasn’t bad at all. Tank was passed out and Teddy is just a good cat in general. The only thing exciting on the road was seeing who was pulled over, a truck on fire and playing the license plate game.
Texas was soon after. That’s where things got interesting
In El paso we were going through a border patrol check, where they ask if we are citizens. And I would have to provide a health certificate for Tank, the only problem with traveling with swine..
The way the check point is set up is like you’re taking an exit and the free way is still open, you just have construction cones guiding you. While we were waiting in the long line; a car just goes strolling by the checkpoint. They kept hitting their brakes and weren’t taking off so we figured it was someone who worked there. Next thing we know four border patrol officers sprint to their cars and take off, spinning tires. As we exit the checkpoint we see the officers had pulled over the little car, to our astonishment it was a little old lady. We had a good laugh for the next few miles.
The next most interesting things were stopping at rest stops and the kind of attention Tank gets. I would see what’s going on if I heard screaming and squealing coming from the car next to me too.
A bit into Texas it started to rain… we came up next to a big semi, the kind that carry the cows, as we got closer the wind and rain his truck was throwing up knocked our small car out of control. My dad is such an amazing driver he was able to gain control again. It was like my life flashed before my eyes, I grabbed Teddy and Tank and held them down preparing for the worst. This was one of the scariest moments I’ve encountered and I couldn’t be more thankful to God for keeping my family in his hands.
We finally got into our hotel room around 2am… trying to keep a pig quiet and get him into an elevator requires a lot of patience. Thankful Tank wasn’t as bad as I thought he’d be. I was very thankful the hotel let us take my 130 pound pig in. But we had to sneak Teddy in.. so he hid in my mom’s bag.. thank God he’s quiet. Pigs eye-sight isn’t very well so when the floor changed color from the carpet to the wood he kind of panicked and stayed on the carpet… it took a huge bag of cat food to get him into the elevator.
Once we got into our room we put the animals in the bath room but apparently that wasn’t suitable for Tank. So he kept knocking the door with his nose. I finally let him out and helped him on the bed. It was night night time.
